Foreign spy detained in Belarus

A citizen "who gathered information for a foreign intelligence" was detained last week in our country, KGB chief Valery Vakulchyk told journalists. He did not elaborate on the case with any details, BelTA reports.

The spy whose nationality or identity remains unkwnon was detained in Minsk, Interfax-West reports. KGB agents caught the man when he was receiving some information.  

The hearing of another espionage suspect’s case will held behind closed doors, KGB chief said on May 30. Andrei Haidukou, a youth opposition activist from Navapolack, was detained in Vitsebsk on state treason charges in November 2012.
