Ales Mіhalevіch wants to fine “Sovetskaya Belorussiya” for 6 thousand roubles

The deputy head of BNF Ales Mihalevich has brought an action against the “Sovetskaya Belorussiya” newspaper and its journalist Artsyom Chalyadzinski.
The reason for it was an article printed in the presidential edition. It claimed that Mihalevich has never grown even a bucket of potatoes. That’s what he said in his interview with ERB:

“As a Belarusian, I am insulted when someone says that a Belarusian has never managed and has never grown even a bucket of potatoes. That is why I have brought an action against them and demanded that they should publish a refutation and give me a material compensation of 6 thousands which would be enough to buy a new bucket for storing potatoes”.

Interestingly, there may be no “Artsyom Chalyadzinski” in “SB”. Mihalevich thinks that it may be a pseudonym. On the other hand, it is known that there is such a Belarusian football player who plays in Ukraine now.

Ales Mіhalevіch hopes that the court will satisfy his appeal because he is not demanding “millions” but a symbolic compensation and a refutation.
