800 people granted refugee status in Belarus

Nearly 800 people from 13 countries have been granted a refugee status in Belarus. The lists includes 562 Afghans, 131 Georgians as wells Ethiopians, Palestinians, Iranians, Iraqis, Tadjiks and Azerbajanis. Most of the registered refugees reside in Minsk or in the Minsk region. 

Under the Belarus laws, foreign nationals are allowed to apply for the Belarusian citizenship seven years after being granted a refugee status, reports Belta.
