Zyanon Paznyak's books branded as extremist at border - as usual

The Brest Province expert information commission has found traces of extremism in the two books written by Zyanon Paznyak. The books are Good Photo and Defense of Kurapaty. People’s Memorial, tut.by reports.

Secretary of the administration of the Sejm of the CCP-BPF Ales Chaholski encountered the problem. He was crossing the Polish-Belarusian border in Brest on September 27 and had four Zyanon Paznyak’s books on him. Customs officers confiscated three of them ‘for inspection’.

Traces of extremism have been found in the books Good Photo and Defense of Kurapaty. People’s Memorial , he learnt later. Brest customs sent an appeal to Brest Maskouski District Court asking to announce the two books extremist.

 

Chaholski was not given a copy of the expert materials and does not know what exactly the customs officers disliked. Furthermore, the oppositionist was summoned to Minsk Frunze District Department of the Interior. It turned out that customs officers had asked the police to reveal whether Chaholski’s actions were an administrative violation.

 

It is not the first problem caused by Zyanon Paznyak’s books. Hrodna customs confiscated his book Terra Dei earlier. However, there were no traces of extremism in the book, a special commission concluded in February 2015.
