Youth activist Maxim Dashuk is arrested, he may be imprisoned for up to 3 years

A criminal case has been started against Maxim Dashuk, a 17-year-old youth activist. He was arrested in Minsk Maskouski District Department of the Interior yesterday.
Dashuk was a participant of “the case of 14”. He was sentenced to 18 months of restraint of liberty. The teenager was accused of violation of the terms of his penalty yesterday. He was delivered to the confinement cell in Valadarski Street in Minsk. Dashuk may be imprisoned for up to three years, informs “Charter-97”.

Maxim’s lawyer Pavel Sapenka has informed that the activist’s mother is a private entrepreneur and that he has no father.

Dashuk helped his mother in her work due to a difficult financial situation in the family. It led to five registered violations of the terms of his completion of sentence. The teenager was allowed to go out only from 10 a.m. till 12 p.m. The activist was absent during police check-ups several times.

Thus, there are 5 political prisoners in Belarus now: Vaukavysk entrepreneurs Mikalai Autuhovich, Yury Lyavonau and Uladzimir Asipenka, and one more participant of “the case of 14” – Artsyom Dubski.
