What can Belarusians buy for one thousand roubles? (Photo)

Babruisk entrepreneurs attract customers by selling all their goods for… one thousand roubles.
Babruisk Central Market has about 20 shops advertising “All goods for one thousand roubles”. Anxious buyers can always be found crowing around such shops. You can buy nail polish, a comb, a bad kitchen knife, a meat mincer knife, a glass-cutting knife, a fork, a spoon, a 3-metre tape-line, a screwdriver, a corkscrew, glue, a mirror, a bast whisp, an “I love Babruisk” badge or a badge with a  picture of Orlando Bloom and many more trifles there.

ERB got interested what could be bought for one thousand roubles in an ordinary Babruisk shop. It turned out that you could buy the following things for one “banknote” with a picture of the Arts Museum: salt and baking soda, a pack of instant noodles, a Chupa-Chups, a bubble gum, a medium banana, a small lemon, a kiwi or an orange, almost all kinds of yoghurt, half a litre of mineral water, toilet paper, matches, Belarusian cigarettes, an ice-cream or a pack of halva.
