Vote count through eyes of observer

A photo report from the polling station No 12 in Mahilyou. The events took place in the evening of September 28.

The first ballot box is being opened. The advance voting papers continue lying on the desk and the votes from early voting have not been counted yet. The number of ballots was counted but not told to observers.

Every candidate has a pile.

One can see that in the fisrt pile, there are votes given in favor of candidate Vasilyonak. A small, at the first glance, pile won with 1234 votes out of 1639.

All the ballot papers are storedd together and packed in one packet. A very serious violation. The election commission witnesses that 60 invalid papers and 160 "against all" should be kept in different packets.

The work is over within 25 minutes.

956 invalid ballots are packed in the white paper. The gray packet contains valid votes (1639 copies).

The transfer of final protocol to the higher election commission will be watched by international observers. Candidates, their trustees and Belarusian observers are waiting outside. The police say this is the order.
