Vaukavysk entrepreneurs have been imprisoned for four months

The fourth month of imprisonment of three activists of the entrepreneurs’ movement from Vaukavysk will end on June 8. Mikalai Autuhovich, Yury Lyavonau and Uladzimir Asipenka are still in Minsk confinement cell #1.
Autuhovich continues his hunger strike started on April 16. The prisoner demands to send their case to court or change the measure of detention to a release with a written undertaking not to leave the country.

All the three were detained on February 8, 2009. Human rights activists consider the detained to be political prisoners taking into account the fact that Autuhovich and Lyavonau had previous convictions and that the international community announced them prisoners of conscience.

Minsk Region Office of the Public Prosecutor decided to prolong the investigation of Vaukavysk entrepreneurs’ case for a month on June 2.

BelaPAN notes that Autuhovich has lost 25 kilos during the hunger strike. He is in the medical unit of the confinement cell now.
