USA opposes to Customs Union’s membership in World Trade Organization

Russia’s suggestion of joining the World Trade Organization in the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan is “unrealizable”. The US Minister of Trade Gerry Lock has claimed it. According to him, the suggestion is “unexampled” and will only delay the negotiations concerning Russia’s membership in the World Trade Organization.
Lenta.ru reminds that Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan decided to join the WTO together after a meeting in Moscow on June 9. However, the idea surprised the administration of the organization because countries had always joined it on their own without being part of any blocs throughout its history.
