US express solidarity with Belarus people
Washington demands immediate release and rehabilitation of Belarusian political prisoners.
This is said in the statement of the U.S. Department of State's representative Marie Harf, reports charter97.org. The statement is dedicated to the anniversary of the brutal dispersal of the peaceful demonstration against falsification of the presidential election's results in Minsk in 2010.
"We remember the political prisoners who remain in detention and reiterate our call for their immediate and unconditional release and the restoration of their political rights," the document says.
Apart from this, the statement says: "As we mark the third anniversary of the events of December 19, 2010, we stand with the people of Belarus and reaffirm our readiness to help them build a democratic, prosperous, and truly independent European state."
