UN to allocate half a billion dollars to Belarus

$490 million will be allocated for the UN Framework programme of Assistance to Belarus for 2011-2015. The UN will help our country in the field of healthcare, ecology, social-economic field, migration administration and state regulation as well as in other spheres. The Minister of Economy Mikalai Snapkou has informed about it. Snapkou: "In the first place, our work will be directed at the innovative and investment activities, development of business environment and entrepreneurs’ initiative and promotion of Belarus’ membership in the World Trade Organization, introduction of international standards in different fields, development of social assistance especially for unprotected groups of people including the Chernobyl region”.

The Belarusian Ministry of Economy will be the coordinator of the realization of the programme.
