Poet and opposition activist Uladzimir Nyaklyayeu has been released this morning. He has served a 7-day sentence in Akreststina Street prison for participation in an unauthorized street action on September 8. Nyaklyayeu is going to lodge a complaint about the actions of the administration of the detention centre. He considers them to be ‘a torture’. For example, he was not allowed to write and had to listen to ‘educational conversations’.

Nyaklyayeu, 71, was caught by policemen in plain clothes on his way to the doctor’s on September 15. He was taken to Soviet District Court and jailed, Euroradio reported.
