Ukrainians indignant at Belarus for getting their islands (video)

But some people do not like it. Inhabitants of the village of Mysy, Chernigov Province, are indignant at the fact that the islands they use for grazing cattle and picking berries will be given to Belarus.

Villagers are sure that the islands belong to Ukraine. They were inhabited 100 years ago. However, when the Dnieper changed its course, people moved to Mysy and stared using the islands for grazing cattle and picking berries and mushrooms.

They blame the Dnieper for giving the islands to Belarus. The river changed its course and changed the border while cutting away a piece of Ukrainian territory.

The state will compensate for the loss, Ukrainian frontier guards assure – the Dnieper took away a piece of territory from Belarus in another spot. However, inhabitants of Chernigov Province draw attention to the fact that the size of the territory Belarus lost is much smaller that the piece of land it will get from Ukraine.
