Ukraine's court bans Simon Petlyura monument
A Ukrainian court has ruled to ban a monument to Simon Petlyura, the fighter for Ukraine's independence from the Soviet Union in 1917-1921, in the city of Poltava. Earlier, the regional administration approved the installment of a memorial stone to be later replaced with a monument.
However, the Poltava Region's Economic Court satisfied the lawsuit from the local city council which demanded to free that land plot from the stone, reports Gazeta.ru.
