Trucks stranded in 45km-long queue at Poland-Belarus border

The State Border Control Committee of Belarus is waiting for the latest reports from the Belarus-Poland border, after the Polish customs officers and the Polish government yesterday failed to agree on the increased salaries for the customs workers. The latter said they would continue their protest.

Aliaksandr Tsishchanka, Belarus's Border Control Committee spokesman, briefed the European Radio for Belarus on the situation at the border as follows:

“Betweem 0000 and 0800, 280 trucks were cleared to enter Belarus from the Polish territory at the Kazlovichy crossing point; 54 trucks were allowed into Poland. The queue on the Polish territory is 45-km long. There are no queues in Belarus, with some 245 trucks being parked at the terminals. Drivers refrain from traveling to Poland until the situation at the border is stabilized”.
