Traffic police to carry out an all-out inspection of taxi vans

The Interior Ministry's Traffic Police Inspectorate has stressed it will continue to monitor the operation of taxi vans. Every taxi company will be controlled by a personal police officer who is also charged with conducting preventive measures among taxi van drivers.
The Traffic Police performs routine weekly checks on the public taxi vans that carry passengers. At least 1706 vans were banned from operation last year, writes the Minsk-based newspaper Zviazda.

5416 drivers and 987 officials were subjected to administrative prosecution. 16 transport companies were deprived of their licenses by the Transport Ministry following the orders from the Traffic Police. An all-out inspection is scheduled to take place from January 21 through January 31.
