Tatstsyana Shaputska enters second year in EHU

Rector Anatol Mihailau made the girl blush during the interview. Tatstsyana Shaputska expelled from the BSU department of law, entered the second year of political science department of European Humanitarian University in Vilnius yesterday. The interview was conducted by the rector of EHU Anatol Mihailau. Tatstyana did not expect that Mr. Mihailau would announce that she would be interviewed in English.

Tatstsyana blushed because it was unexpected – however, she was not taken aback as she had a good command of English and was practically an A-student in BSU.

Tatstsyana Shaputska: "I had two appointments yesterday. The first one was an interview with Mr. Mihailau who asked me about the educational system in Belarus, my vision of the future development of the democratic movement and Belarusian educational institutions. The other one was a meeting with the dean of the department of political science and all pro-rectors. I did not expect that the interview would be in English because one of the pro-rectors responsible for international relations was an American. I was asked various questions – the subjects I studied in the university and technical details – in particular, I was asked if I had access to the Internet. In the end they told me I was accepted. The midyear I must attend in the university starts in two weeks”.

Let us remind you that Tatstyana Shaputska, deputy head of Malady Front, was expelled from the BSU department of law at the beginning of December after she had taken part in the Civil Community Forum of the Eastern Partnership in Brussels. The official reason for the expulsion was the fact that she had violated the rules as she had not asked for permission to go abroad.

Tatstyana complained to the rector of BSU Syarhei Ablameika and then to the Minister of Education Alyaksandr Radzkou. Both answered the same thing – the expulsion order would not be cancelled and that it was done according to the law. Tatstyana is preparing a complaint about Belarusian State University and is going to send it to the court to protest against her expulsion. It is worth mentioning that the girl was a very good student (her academic average was 8.5) and had never missed classes except for the three days of absence due to her participation in the Forum.
