Strict checks to access Lidziya Yarmoshyna

More security agents than journalists today were seen at the first news conference of Lidziya Yarmoshyna, the chairperson of the Central Election Commission. "There were very strignent checks, using a metal detector. We also were told to show our personal belonging. The accreditation card alone was not enough. We also had to present the passport and the editorial ID", ERB correspondent Volha Sivakova reports.

Yarmoshyna said at this news conference that 30 percent of voters cast their ballots by 9 a.m. She noted that was it not much compared with the previous elections.

She will give the next press-conference at 1500 Minsk time.
