Street in Minsk might be named after Lutskevich brothers

The Minsk City Hall will study a possibility of naming one of newly-built streets in the Belarusian capitals after Lutskevich brothers, the prominent Belarusian statesmen in the history of the 20th century, says a letter from the culture department in respond to the application from the Belarusian Language Society, reports Belapan. Aleh Trusau, the chairman of the Belarusian Language Society, was proposing to rename Internatsionalnaya Street into Lutskevich Brothers' Street or to give this name to one of new streets in Minsk.

The authorities refused to rename Internatsionalnaya citing difficulties for the local residents and companies registered on this street.

However, one of capital's new street might still be named after the famous Belarusians.
