SMS miner’s sentence to be pronounced in Minsk today
The closed hearing has been held in Minsk Central District Court for two weeks.
The defendant is a 34-year-old inhabitant of Minsk Province. He wrote an SMS informing about a blasting assembly that he was going to activate in Minsk metro in February 2014 (“I have a bomb, I’m in the metro, where to blow it up, tell me the activation code”). The metro traffic was stopped, people were evacuated and all the stations were checked. ‘The joker’ was detained soon afterwards.
He is accused of several crimes now: false reports about preparation for a blast that put people’s lives in danger and caused major losses (90 million roubles), rape, sexual activities with a minor and demonstration of pornography.
