Scandal in Italian football: players protest on field (video)
The incident happened during the third division game of the Italian Championship.
It was a game between Nocerina and Salernitana. However, it was hard to call it a football match as Nocerina players started falling on the ground and leaving the field by themselves or with the help of the medical staff. In the end, only 6 players of the team stayed on the field. The game was stopped.
The investigation of the incident is in progress, but the reasons for the mass flash-mob are already known. Nocerina fans were banned from entering the stadium. The most furious fans threatened the players if they play against Salernitana. Many of the players decided to sabotage. Besides, the players had to run away from the field as various objects were thrown at them from the stands (in the photo).
