Russian nationals in Belarus vote for Putin's party

Almost 66 percent of votes received Vladimir Putin's United Russia party from the Russian citizens living in Belarus. The Communists trailed with 12,3 percent, the Liberal Democratic Party – 8,3 percent: the Fair Russia  – 5,1 percent. The remaining parties that took part in the elections gained less than 1 percent of votes, reports Belapan.
A total of 5353 Russian citizens turned out at the polling stations in Belarus. According to the Belarus's Interior Ministry, over 70,000 Russian citizens have a permanent residence in this country. Half of them are registered with the Russian consular authorities.

The Russia's Central Election Commission said on Monday morning after having processed 98 percent of ballots that the United Russia was winning with 64.1 percent of votes. The Commmunists received 11.6 percent; the Liberal Democrats -- 8.2 percent; the Fair Russia -- 7.8 percent.
