Youth Front leader in a new prison ordeal

It is yet to be known what prison Dashkevich is going to end up in. When commenting to Radio Liberty, the political prisoner's fiancee Anastasia Palazhanka said Dashkevich would be transferred today. She says Zmicier believes he would be sent to a prison in Hrodna or Zhodzina.

Youth Front leaders Zmicier Dashkevich and Eduard Lobau were detained on December 18, 2010, one day before the presidential elections in Belarus. They were charged with hooliganizm and sentenced to two years (Dashkevich) and four years (Lobau) in jail. However, Dashkevich faced a fresh trial last summer, when the political prisoner's term was extended for another year.

If no new trials take place, the Youth Front leader is expected to walk out free on August 28, 2013.
