Women call on government to return Uladzislau Kavalyou's body (video)
Iryna Bahdanava, Lera Krasouskaya and Lyubou Kavalyova made a public appeal on the anniversary of Kanavalau/Kavalyou death sentence.
They called on the world
community to unite and demand to return Uladzislau Kavalyou's body to his
family. The video-appeal in the name of three women was released in the
framework of Lyubou Kavalyova's campaign "Return the Body", informs
the human rights center "Vyasna".
In the appeal, Lyubou Kavalyova asks to help her to get her son's body back.
Lera Krasouskaya shares her story and says she hopes to find out what happened
to her father. Iryna Bahdanava, in her turn, asks the international community
to sign the petition of Lyubou Kavalyova and do their best to make the
Belarusian authorities release political prisoners and prevent appearance of
new ones.
A year ago, on November 30, 2011, the Supreme Court pronounced the sentence to
Vitsebsk residents Dzmitry Kanavalau and Uladzislau Kavalyou. They were
considered guilty of the blast in "Kastrychnitskaya" metro station
and sentenced to death.
