White-red-white flag flies over Vitsebsk (photo)
It was hoisted on the lighting tower above the railways near the Polatsk market in the morning on February 8.
According to Vitsebsk People's News", this was done by brothers Taras and Aleh Surhan. They say that it was an action of solidarity with imprisoned Syarhej Kavalenka and all political prisoners of Belarus.
The flag hanged on the tower in the rays of light for nearly an hour, after that it was taken away by the people in plain clothes.
Let us remind you, Syarhej Kavalenka is in the pre-trial detention center now. He has been on a hunger-strike since December 19, 2011. He is accused of avoidance of serving punishment - the so-called "domestic forcible hard labour". Kavalenka got punished for hoisting a white-red-white flag on the main New Year tree in Vitsebsk in 2010.
