Statkevich sentenced to three years in prison
He will spend the term in a cell and his number of meetings, parcels and phone calls will be restricted.
The ex-candidate has stood trial in Shklou colony today. The administration suggested putting the ex-presidential candidate into stricter imprisonment conditions. According to the prison administration, Mikalai Statkevich has not started improving his behaviour. That is why he should be transferred to prison.
Let us remind you that the court returned the ex-presidential candidate guilty of organization of mass riots and sentenced him to six years in a colony last spring. Lawyers explain that the new sentence will not be added to the term. The political prisoner’s regime of imprisonment will be changed for three years. He will be transferred from Shklou colony to Mahilyou prison #4.
