Political scientist Ales Lahvinets to get Leu Sapeha award

Leu Sapeha award is given for an outstanding input into formation and development of the civil society and building up the independent and democratic Belarus.

The laureate will be able to do scientific work in Poland for a year. Also, Lahvinets will be provided an opportunity to give lectures to students of five Polish universities: the University of Warsaw, the Jagiellonian University , the University of Wrocław, as well as the Adam Mickiewicz University and the University of Białystok. These very educational establishments launched the award in 2006.

Besides, President of Poland Lech Kaczyński used to be the honourable patronatus of the award from 2006 till 2010, and President Bronislaw Komorowski - in 2011-2012.
