New Pope likely to be elected on March 12
The conclave dedicated to the election of a new Pope starts today.
Euroradio reminds that on February 28 85-year-old Benedict XVI retired. He has become the first Pope in the last 600 years who left the sacred position voluntarily.
According to the information of ВВС, the church administration has conducted a series of measures aimed at prevention of the information leaks during the election of a Pope. The cell phones will be prohibited during all this time and technicians will make sure there are no bugging devices in the cardinals' rooms.
The first session of the conclave starts at about 7.30 p.m., Belarusian time.
