KGB: We are not going to address to Interpol so far

The State Security Committee (KGB) звaddressed to the governments of Lithuania and Sweden asking for assistance in the investigation of the case of the Swedes' illegal flight over our country. However, they did not address to the Interpol due to some reason. This is how they explain it to Euroradio in the KGB:

KGB: "Probably, these are their pseudonyms. It often happens so. It's difficult to say anything here. This is why we only forwarded enquiries to Sweden and Lithuania".

The KGB admits that is it not necessary for the Swedes to come to Belarus as they can be interrogated by their own, Swedish special services:

KGB: "We send certain document at the official level. The international legislation prescribes an opportunity to conduct interrogations and investigation actions by the agencies located at the territory of other countries".

It is curious: if the Swedes admit that they broke the EU border during such an interrogation, will this be considered a reason for detention?

However, they insist in the KGB that they need to conduct a face-to-face interrogation of the arrested Surapin and Basharymau on the one side and the organizers of the "toy assault" - on the other side.

There is another opportunity for the KGB men to talk to the Swedes directly - to go to Sweden themselves. However, the KGB was surprised to hear such suggestion from Euroradio, like, the status of the Belarusian KGB officers will be unclear in the Scandinavian country.

KGB: "In which status will we be there? As who?"

Director of the Studio Total Per Cromwell has expressed his confidence that the Swedish police will not cooperate with the Belarusian KGB, in a conversation with Euroradio.

Cromwell: "I don't think that the Swedish police will cooperate with the KGB. Maybe they will contact us, I admit that such thing may happen. However, we have had no contacts with the police so far, no one has addressed to us."

The KGB is expecting a response from Lithuania and Sweden and hope that the latter "will have to react to the violation of the NATO air space somehow". The law-enforcement agencies connect the process of investigation of the Surapin-Basharymau case exclusively with the answer of these countries.
