Israel’s everyday life to be shown to Belarusians

The latest films shot by Israeli producers will be shown to Belarusians in Minsk movie theatre “Central” during the traditional Israeli Film Festival. The festival will begin on November 1 with such films as “Salsa Tel-Aviv” and “Five hours from Paris” awarded with the titles “Best Film” and “Best Scenario” at Haifa International Film Festival.

According to Israeli Consul Hannah Ben-Ezra, they have selected last year’s best films for this festival. She has confessed that they could have selected more films and invite Israeli producers to meet Belarusian viewers if they had had more than three months to prepare.

Hannah Ben-Ezra: “I came here only three months ago and I did not have an opportunity to organize a better event. However, I promise that producers will be invited next year. We will be improving the organization every year. We will bring the latest films and our best-known producers next year”.
The goal of the festival is to help Belarusians get acquainted with the Israeli culture and to describe how Israel and the Israeli live. The consul has warned that this life is not only about happy moments on the beach on a sunny day.

Hannah Ben-Ezra: “The films we have brought do not always demonstrate an ideal image that does not exist in reality. Israel has its own problems. Everyday life that may be complicated and rather contrasting. It is necessary to understand it. I think that you will understand what I mean when you watch some of the films we have brought this year”.
The festival will continue until November 3 and 6 films will be presented there. Every film is outstanding – just look at the number of prizes and awards won by them at different international film festivals. The consul also hopes that we will be better aware of the reality of their everyday life after we watch the films. Hannah has confessed to Euroradio that she is waiting for Belarusian winter with anxiety to see the reality of our everyday life too.
