International Ice Hockey Federation urged to move Ice Hockey World Cup 2014

A group of public figures appealed to the International Ice Hockey Federation and the International Hockey Hall of Fame and Museum with a request to move the Ice Hockey World Cup 2014 from Belarus to another country, and remove a hockey jersey with the name of Lukashenko from the Hall of Fame, "Charter'97" informs.

The letter has been signed by the first President of the Czech Republic Vaclav Havel, playwright Tom Stoppard, representatives of the Free Theatre Natalia Kaliada, Mikalaj Khalezin, NBA player Sarunas Marculenis, President of PTD Bruce Jackson, President of We Remember Foundation Iryna Krasouskaya, 
co-founder of Vyzvalenne Civil Initiative Volha Bandarenka,  Founder of FreeBelarusNOW Iryna Bahdanava. 

They urge to stop political speculations on the topic of sports, in particular, hockey, which the Belarusian authorities actively use.
