Human rights activist: They are trying to discredit detained anarchists!

The accusation to the youngsters, arrested upon the suspision in the attack on the Russian Embassy in Minsk, has not been re-qualified yet. They are still accused of hooliganism, informed a human rights activist Nasta Lojka live on air on Euroradio:

Nasta Lojka: "As far as I found out from the relatives of the detained, there had been no new accusations so far. One of the fathers managed to call the investigator and the latter confirmed that the accusation would be changed. However, there is no information that it has already been changed! As far as I know, no new accusations has been presented to both Ihar Alinevich and Mikalaj Dziadok yet".

Nasta Lojka has learned the information that the accusation was re-qualified as "purposeful demolishing or damage of property, committed in the way, dangerous for everyone, by an organized group" (part 1 and 2 of Article 218 of the Criminal Code) from a new issue of the internet-newspaper "Ejednevnik", which contained a big article about the so-called "Anarchists' case". The author of this article also claims that the youngsters are not only suspected in the attack on the Russian Embassy, but also accused of four more arsons. Meanwhile, according to the human rights activist's information, neither Alinevich, nor Dziadok have confessed that they participated in these arsons, committed in the years 2009-2010 in Minsk and Salihorsk.

Nasta Lojka considers the article in "Ejednevnik" a "very weird" one. "For instance, the author speaks about the people who are suspected in the attack on the Russian Embassy as if they were guilty. This contradicts the principle of presumption of innocence! One may claim somebody else's guilt in whatever only after the court's decision. Thus, I am convinced that this article is an attempt to discredit the detained on the "Anarchists' Case", as they call it in the media".

Nasta Lojka is convinced that the youngters are imprisoned for their political views. "They were arrested upon their political convictions, so how come they turned into ordinary hooligans?" — the human rights activist says.
