Kazakou: It is difficult to get used to it but I am starting to feel what it is like. I am starting to live as a free person.

Euroradio: Have you noticed any changes in your circle and in your city?

Kazakou: Changes… I went shopping yesterday. It felt like an excursion – I was looking at the prices. There is some tension in the air, there has not been anything like this before. You can hear someone whispering in every corner now.

Euroradio: What are you planning to do now; did you dream of doing something at liberty?

Kazakou: I went to my band’s rehearsal on the first morning. I did the thing I had dreamt of for six months.

Euroradio: What band is it?

Kazakou: It is a Belarusian-speaking band “Skryzhali”. I played there before my arrest. Surprisingly, they have been waiting for me. I will take part in the first concert since my release on September 2.

Euroradio: Have you thought of looking for a job?

Kazakou: Of course, I will have to work. I was surprised when I received a phone call from my old place of work and when they asked me whether and when I would return. I did not even expect them to recall me at all taking into account the fact that I was arrested at work and the other employees saw it.

Euroradio: Have your former colleagues congratulated you on the release?

Kazakou: Of course, some of them phoned, wrote or asked my mother to tell me.

Euroradio: Are you disinclined for street actions after the imprisonment?

Kazakou: The time I spent in jail has made me understand that I do the right thing and that my views are right.
