"Dialogue for modernization" shows EU's interest to Belarus

She has given an interview to the BelaPAN news agency because of expiration of her diplomatic mission in Belarus. According to the diplomat, both Belarus and the EU are going through the stage of disappointment by the current situation which is actually in the dead end. However, the EU suggests friendship and cooperation, and this remains unchanged, Mrs. Thomas underlines.

The diplomat notes that the current economic model of Belarus comes across many difficulties as it is counted on a great level of state property, as well as on getting rather essential resources from other countries. In her opinion, our country urgently needs an economic reform. Besides, the EU could share its experience and some know-hows regarding such reforms in the EU member states.

Alongside with that, Mrs. Thomas has noted that existence of political prisoners in our country interferes with the dialogue between the EU and Belarus.
