Aleh Byabenin died two years ago
Founder of the web-site charter97.org was found hung on September 3, 2010 in his country-house near Minsk.
The law-enforcement agencies claimed from the very beginning that it was a suicide. However, no death note was found. The journalist's friends had many questions, to which the investigators failed to answer. Therefore, they still write that Byabenin died in "unclear circumstances".
Aleh Byabenin was born in 1974 in Russia. He worked in the independent media of Belarus since early 1990s. He was a Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper "Imya", one of the founders of the civil initiative Charter'97 and the founder of the popular web-site charter97.org.
