The Department for Financial Investigation for the State Control Committee has confiscated Henadz Fyadynich’s computer and records and seized his property – a flat and a Toyota, Radio Liberty reports. The head for the independent REP trade union is suspected of tax evasion – 22 thousand denominated roubles in 2011.

He was detained when  leaving his flat in Melnikaite Street at about 9 a.m. on August 2, Fyadynich said. People dressed like plumbers stopped him and showed their IDs. They put handcuffs on him, searched his flat and seized his property.

The trade union leader has been released on condition of non-disclosure. He is suspected of major tax evasion.
