Radioactive meteorite crashes in Latvia (Video)

A meteorite crashed near a Latvian city Mazsalaca on Sunday evening. Nobody was injured. According to a TV channel “Vesti”, scientists are not sure this is a real meteorite. The do not exclude that it may be a satellite.

The object has created a crater that is 20 meters wide and 5 meters deep. The temperature was so high that it made the sand melt.

Latvian specialists have registered an increase in the ionizing radiation background in the place of the crash. However, it does not exceed the norm.
