Putin discusses Ukrainian conflict with Lukashenka and Nazarbayev

They discussed the crisis in Ukraine. The situation “is dangerous to life and legal interests of the Russian-speaking population in Crimea and in the western regions of the country,” the Kremlin press service reports.

Commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet Alexander Vitko presented Ukrainian soldiers in Crimea with an ultimatum on March 3, some sources report. He demanded that they supported the Crimean government by 5 a.m. on Tuesday. The Russian Ministry of Defence refuted the information later.

Meanwhile, acting Ukrainian President and head of the Verkhovna Rada Alexander Turchinov urged the inhabitants of eastern and southern regions to protect Ukraine from foreign aggressors together with everyone else.
