President's ideologist plans to collect $ millions from would-be students

Anatol Rubinau, the first deputy chief of the Administration of the Belarusian President, on July 18 proposed to charge fees from those willing to pass the centralized tests.  "The centralized tests should cost around $15 per person. In total, it could generate huge money so much necessary for the improvment of the testing system," he said.

The European Radio for Belarus has decided to calculate which "huge money" this high-ranking official wants to collect. Given that a total of 195000 people took part in the testing this year, they should have paid $2,950,000.

He could also propose to charge a fee for every test being passed by would-be university students. According to Rubinau, there was a total of 500,000 tests/person. If counted this way, the government could collect $7,500,000. It should be definitely enough both to "improve" the testing system and pay for the Russian gas.
