President's aide: Belarus needs "diggers" not "reformers" today
The Belarusian industry currently needs people "who dig" who understand the economic reality and offer solutions -- not "reformers", president's aide Sergei Tkachov wrote in the Sovietskaya Belorussia newspaper. Tkachov focused on the major problems of the Belarusian economy: overproduction, decreased exports, prices and a credit policy of banks. He noted that the presidential administration managed to improve the operation of directors at state-owned enterprises but problems still remain.
"Visiting enterprises, one can see a lot of absurdities that we introduced ourselved", writes the president's aide. Sergei Tkachov is convinced that time demands "concrete thought-out actions" and ideas, including economic, marketing and technical solutions. The social and economic future of the country depends on the resolition of problems in the industrial sector, Tkachov believes.
