Presidential Administration rejects proposal for dialogue with unrecognized union of Poles

The Belarusian authorities have rejected a proposal for dialogue by the Warsaw-backed unrecognized Union of Poles in Belarus (UPB).

The proposal was contained in an appeal to Alyaksandr Lukashenka that was adopted at a convention held in Hrodna on March 15. The convention resulted in the reelection of Anzelika Borys, 35, to another four-year term as leader of the UPB.

In its reply, which arrived on April 13, the Presidential Administration insists that the Union of Poles in Belarus is led by Jozef Lucznik.
