"Political" students flunk out

The first facts of expulsion of students who were detained after the events that had occurred in Minsk on December 19 have been registered, informs BelaPAN.
According to the committee for protection of the repressed “Solidarity”, one student had been flunked out of Belarusian State Technical University. Two students of Maxim Tank State Pedagogical University have been informed by their dean that they will receive their expulsion documents by the end of the week.

According to the adviser of the Minister of Education responsible for public relations and contacts with the press Victar Iuchankau, “Belarusian universities do not expel students for political reasons”. “Solidarity” confirms it: “political” students are being implied that they will have problems during their finals. It has already happened in BSPU: one student has not passed the final test and another student’s term paper has not been accepted.

Human rights defenders note that all the arrested students have been allowed to take exams so it means that the process of their expulsion may take some time.
