Political prisoner Kozulin denied appointment with family

The adminitration of the Vitsba-3 correction colony in the northern Belarus is set to transfer political prisoner Alexander Kozulin to the Department of Corrections's hospital in Minsk. At the time, prison officials maintain that Kozulin has no problems with his health. According to Kozulin's daughter Julia, her father refuses to be admitted to the hospital. Meanwhile, he was denied appointment with his family

"The colony chief ordered this punishment "for violating the day schedule". So we have been denied the next short-time appointment with him," Julia told the European Radion for Belarus.

Alexander Kozulin, the former presidential contender in the 2006 elections, was sentenced last year to 5.5 years in prison. While in jail, he staged a 53-day hunger strike to protest his politically motivated imprisonment.
