Police to step up security during elections

The police in Belarus will step up security from September 23 through September 28 and on the day of possible polls in the second round of parliamentary elections. Police units will operate on a round-o'clock basis, reports Belapan. Belarus Interior Minister Uladzimir Navumau ordered to react immediately to any inquiries associated with the elections. The police will also be checking for the presence of firearms and explosives in the buildings where polling stations will be located.
