Photo sessions for Belarus drunkards

Everyone who gets into a sobering station in Vicebsk will face a photo session. The local policemen create a photo database of their customers not for fun but in order to improve the memory of drunkards.

According to the staff of the sobering station, their clients sometimes pretends that they do not remember getting there, reports our correspondent Yadviga Stashewskaya. Drunkards would sometimes refuse to pay claiming they never remember being in a sobering station. Photos have a record of the date.

Photo files are also used when clients without IDs use the names of their friends or neighbors. The new system of photo sessions has helped reduce the number of cases when drunkards attempted to lie about their identity or to refuse to pay for sobering services.
