Photo fact: special SBU unit Alfa arrives in Donetsk
The elite Ukrainian special services may take part in restoring the order in the city and province.
Mass riots started in Donetsk earlier. Pro-Russian protesters seized the building of the regional administration and declared the independence of ‘Donetsk Republic’. Similar actions were organized in Kharkiv and Lugansk. ‘An anti-crisis headquarters was created in Kiev to restore the order and heads of the security service left for East Ukraine. The Ukrainian authorities are trying to avoid bloodshed.
