Oppositionist Tomas Yakavitski found dead. Murder suspected

Activist of the campaign European Belarus Tomas Yakavitski has died in Mahilyou. He has not lived one month till his 50^th birthday.

Yakavitski’s relatives found his body on the morning of September 24, svaboda.org reports. It was a violent death and the person suspected of the murder has been detained, some sources report.

Tomas Yakavitski was born in Mahilyou on October 25, 1966. He was one of the founders of the motor racing in the city.

Tomas Yakavitski organised fireworks in support of political prisoners Andrei Sannikau and Zmitser Bandarenka who were imprisoned in Mahilyou. He took part in the protest action on December 19, 2010.

Yakavitski owned a car repair business. He went bankrupt shortly before death.

Tomas Yakavitski will be buried in Mahilyou on September 25.
