Opposition leaders meet EU ambassadors

Four leaders of the Belarusian opposition on Tuesday met with 15 ambassadors of EU member states. The opposition was represented by Anatol Lyabedzka, the chairman of the United Civic Party, Syarhei Kalyakin, the leader of the Belarusian Party of Communists, Vintsuk Vyachorka, a deputy chairman of the Belarusian Popular Front and Viktar Karniyenka, a coordinator of the For Freedom! movement.
Nasha Niva newspaper notes that the details of the meeting have not been revealed, but reports suggest that the sides discussed the course of the election campaign and post-election strategies.

The opposition leaders announced that elections could not be recognised as free or democratic. Free elections are one of the conditions to improve the relations between the European Union and official Minsk.
