Opposition leader: Next government will not be liable for Lukashenka's debts
During a forthcoming march, opposition
supporters intend to declare that a democratic government would not be liable
for debts incurred by the Alyaksandr Lukashenka regime, Zmitser Dashkevich,
leader of the Malady Front opposition group, said on Tuesday. Malady Front plans to stage the independence
march in Minsk
"The idea is that without a democratically
elected parliament, which could oversee the use of funds, the next government
and the Belarusian people will not be liable for the debts and agreements
Lukashenka is responsible for. We also mean the sale of state assets. Military
and economic agreements will not have legal force for us, just like the billion
dollar debts incurred by Lukashenka," he told Euroradio.
