Opposition activist in Babruisk registered as candidate for parliament

Ales Chyhir, a pro-democracy activist in Babruisk, today was registered as a parliamentary candidate in the Babruisk rural constituency No 80.
Chyhir is a candidate from the United Pro-Democracy Forces (UDF). He will run against the chief accountant from one of the local factories and a deputy chairman of the Mahilyou regional executive committee.

Ales Chyhir says that other pro-democracy condidates were possibly registered too:

"I don't have information about their registration. But I have a paper which was given to me at the election commission about the access to television and radio. Those people were mentioned in that list".
